THE DOTTIE COW FAMILY...
The Dottie's trace to the Rockville Clipper 4G cow purchased by Cecil Staples in the 1950's as one of his foundation cows for his Diamond herd at Bindloss, Alberta. (I worked for Cecil in the 1970's and acquired the Double Diamond brand and Diamond herd name from him when he dispersed in 1976 along with several females.) I have attached the Clipper family tracing back to Clipper and the Dotties tracing from your 2120 to the Rockville Clipper 4G cow. (Frimley was the herd name of Dan's parent's Shorthorn herd so you will see that name interspersed with Diamond).
Just as the Clipper family was noted for prolific herd bull production the Dottie's have produced some important herd bulls. Diamond Dottie 2nd produced Crowfoot Flag 6H the sire of Gafa Mochican, a herd sire at Eionmor Shorthorns, that sired such breed greats as Eionmor Mr Gus 80C and his many half brothers. Diamond Helena Dottie 12H a donor cow selected by Mike Dugdale that among others produced DF Waco. Diamond Dottie 55G that produced Diamond Belvedere 29B as well as several ET offspring in Scotland. One of the most prolific donor cows today is Frimley Rene Dottie 72R owned by Grant Alexander, Horseshoe Creek Farms.

Diamond Helena Dottie 12H is the Dottie who made the Dottie’s a household name. Her achievements as a brood cow are second to none. We sold Helena Dottie as a feature lot in one of our All That Glitters Sales to the Bakenhus Family, Ar Su Lu Shorthorns, Nebraska and one of our greatest successes is the fact that every owner of Helena Dottie has made money owning her. She is the dam of DF Waco 6W.
